Office Manager / Receptionist
I was born and raised in Newhall California, and a 1982 graduate of Wm S Hart High School.
I started my career in the animal field in 1984 first working for Dr. Sid Clark in Newhall as his receptionist and Veterinary assistant for 11 years. I also worked for Dr. Tracy McFarland (The Cat Doctor) in the evenings for extra experience for about 1 year, and Dr. Cisneros part time for about 1 1/2 years. Dr. Sid Clark then retired and closed the practice, so I decide to move to Lancaster to be closer to my family.
I started my career at Quartz Hill Veterinary Clinic in January 2005.
I have 3 amazing children…

I look forward to being here at Quartz Hill Veterinary until I’m ready to retire, then move to the beautiful East coast of Beaufort North Carolina.
Hi, I’m Christine Breslin. My position here at QHVC is a Veterinary Technician. I’ve been a part of this family since 2013. My start in Animal care was in San Antonio Texas back in 2004. I’m currently scheduled to take my state and national boards to obtain my certification in my field. Giving me the hard earned title RVT (Registered Veterinary Technician).
I’m the proud parent of 3 wonderful 2 legged young adults, Ricky, Kelsey, and Cory. Whom I share with my husband Josh. But.... that’s not all.
3 huskies -Scout, Oliver, and Demon. Cats, a bird, 2 Sulcata Tortoises, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Kim is a Veterinary Assistant. She has almost completed her schooling to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has grown in the veterinary field to become who she is today, a very strong, knowledgeable and compassionate Veterinary Assistant. She started in the veterinary field as an intern in 2011 for her R.O.P class in Veterinary Science. Since then, she has worked several years at a local veterinary practice and then at an emergency practice. Kim started here at Quartz Hill Veterinary Clinic October 2017.
Her passion for animals started as a child, she was always caring for her pets and showing them lots of love and compassion. She learned how to care for a variety of pets including horses, rabbits, birds, dogs, cats, water dragons, snakes, etc.
Kim feels that being able to work with animals as her career is the best career choice for her. Kim’s husband, Josh, also works with animals, as an Animal Control Officer. They share a home with 4 fur babies; Vallen their Border Collie mix, Opal their Dachshund, Onyxia their Cocker Spaniel, Chidori their Siamese cat, and a few exotics like a couple of Bearded Dragons, and a Sulcata Tortoise. In her spare time, she enjoys snuggling her fur babies or taking them on adventures and spending quality time with friends & family. Her passion is to take excellent care of your furry companions.
Hi! I am Christine, or more affectionately known at the clinic as, Cousin Christine. I am an assistant technician and a receptionist here at Quartz Hill Veterinary Clinic. I basically fill in where my help is needed. Drs. Biggerstaff and Spencer are my Cousins. Dr. Debbie gave me the opportunity to work with her at her clinic the year I graduated high school. That was 28 years ago. Wow! It's hard to believe that I have been doing what I love for that long. Well, she actually wanted my mother for the job but could not convince her that working with animals was for her. I begged and pleaded for Dr. Debbie to give me a chance to show her that I could and would love this career. She finally gave me the chance to prove myself and I did! After one funny story, of course! Mind you, I was 18 and had no previous animal care experience. I was watching Dr. Debbie shave my cat's wounds and started to feel "funny". As soon as I heard those clippers, I fainted. Boy, what a start, huh?! I was so glad that Dr. Debbie did not hold that against me.
I started out as a receptionist and bookkeeper. I loved it and did well at it... After a while, I felt something was missing. I really wanted to be in the back office. I wanted to be hands on and actually help the animals. At that time, the local Vets were just opening up the Animal Emergency Clinic in Lancaster. I asked Dr. Debbie if I could work there some nights and weekends, she agreed! I was a receptionist there but soon was learning the skills of the technicians. All my training was "hands on". I watched and learned from the amazing technicians and Doctors there. I was young and eager to learn. I continued to work as a technician for many years. Then, I met my husband Dennis. We met at Lancaster Babtist in Lancaster and once married, we decided that I would be a stay at home Mom. After a couple years, I had a beautiful Daughter, Annalise and a handsome son, William. I raised them and now they are independent teenagers. The last few years, now that my kids are teenagers, I have decided to work a little bit. I work when one of the staff members need some time off or there is just an extra shift that needs covered. This is just the perfect amount for me. I look forward to working and enjoy all the wonderful people and animals I get to see.
At home, I have one dog. Montana is a 5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog. She is one of the best family dogs we have ever had. She definitely loves me and follows me wherever I go. We also have two 7 year old cats. They are indoor only kitties. They are brother and sister. Jack is a black cat with some white markings. He sits in my lap every night. Lizzy is the other cat. She is a black tortie. She plays fetch with her little mice but her favorite toys are pipe cleaners. There is always one close by her.
I know this was a little long but I hope you got to know me just a little and I look forward to meeting you and your pet at the clinic.
I have been working at QHVC for 10 years now as both a receptionist and a veterinary assistant and couldn’t imagine working anywhere else!
My husband and I moved our family to California back in 2001 from Nebraska… GO BIG RED!!!
In Nebraska I worked on the human medical side, mainly in the hospital setting on Telemetry/ICU, Med Surg and Oncology Units sometimes floating into NICU. Once moving to California my path changed and I ventured over to animal health and I LOVE it! I do many different things here at QHVC from the front desk to the back-treatment area, where ever I am needed I am there! One day I may assist you on the phone and the next day I may be giving your pet their vaccine!
James, my husband (best friend) and I have been married for 28 yrs. We’re both from the same small town: Fremont, NE. James is an Electrical Engineer with the City of Glendale, the whole reason we moved here to CA.
We are lucky to have been blessed with two wonderful children. Tyler, 27, is currently serving in the United States Navy and plans on making it a career. Mikayla, 23, is currently in school working on her Associates in Science. After receiving her degree, she plans on transferring to the University of Tennessee, so she can begin her study in Pedology/Edaphology.
We have 3 dogs in our home and I couldn’t imagine having any less! From oldest to youngest… Wally, Critter and Bella!
If I’m not at work, you can find me at a few different places…. 1. Jethawks Stadium (we typically have 3-4 players living with us during the season and we LOVE it) 2. On the back of the Harley 3. Visiting Tyler or Mikayla 4. Movies, dinner and shopping with friends!
Hi, I'm Kathy Shroeder. I've been here at Quartz Hill Veterenary Clinic since October of 2006, but have been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 1990. I have always loved animals and have known since I was very young that I wanted to work them as a career.
